About the author:
Allen Showalter is the Immediate Past International President of the Photo Marketing Association, past Vice President of the Digital Imaging Marketing Association and President of the Dixie Division of PMA. As well as a member of the prestigious Buck Rogers National Photo Finishers Group. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Independent Photo Imagers, a nationwide group representing over 700 businesses. He is also a Certified Photographic Consultant and a member of the Society of Photo Finishing Engineers. He is an author and frequent speaker on the creation, printing and marketing of digital photographs. He is also the originator of the “Showalter Formula” used by photographers worldwide for posing large groups.
Roger McManus earned his undergraduate (’72) and graduate (MBA ’78) degrees from Wake Forest University. In 1979 he established the Photo Research Foundation a marketing research firm specializing in issues related to the photographic industry. In 1985, McManus created the International Minilab Association, a trade association for one-hour photofinishers. As part of that effort, he launched Minilab Developments, a trade magazine for the retail photofinishing business and acquired a lab in Greensboro, NC as a backdrop for the editorial. Three years later McManus added a parallel title for the UK. The title was later changed to Photo Imaging Entrepreneur (PIE) magazine.
